A '?Christian?' critique of YouTube 'Lemonade Stand Economics - Penalizing Productivity'

Thread Topic: Property in Singapore taxed less than food and water...why?
For the record, I do not support any polictical party.
I have explained that the Government ROBBED from tax-payers, enrich themselves first, then redistribute the leftover tax-dollars to the 'poor'. Similar to NKF's T. T. Durai.
Whether or not the PAP government are dishonest like TT Durai at NKF as you mentioned is not the context of this discussion (U can another thread if U deem it necessary)- my contention is only that in the light of PM Lee's suggestion about increasing GST (I think that's what he means) [pict/ [link]: 'Singapore's growth expected to slow in next decade'] inadequacies allowing the under taxation of luxuries (private entertainment facilities existing on residential properties) and the over taxation of necessities (rental housing) need to be corrected first before going on to increase GST on a national basis.

If you were the girl in this video, would your first reaction be similar to hers, "Is this a ROBBERY?"
Do you feel it is fair for this girl in the video to be taxed/robbed everyday?
And the more she makes the more Government takes.

Please note that the video that you have used is inappropriate in so far as depicts taxation as a tyrannical and arbitrary process based upon whimsical taxation rates which shouldn't be the case. In addition, it paints an off-colored 'all or nothing' mindset of the girl being taxed and unjustly portrays needy members of society as lazy and greedy individuals- perpetuating greater neglect within society as the needy suffer abuse. For all its worth, the take home message watching the video is that it is probably a coloured creation by an anarchic-capitalist bent on opposing any government agenda.

The Christian Bible says "Render unto Caesar the things which are Caesar's, and unto God the things that are God's" ( Matthew 22:21) [Wikipedia]. If the entrepreneurial girl in the video found the taxation rates too harsh, she could always feedback about the issue through forums and government town hall meetings on what a more equitable rate should be given that those receiving government giveaways were not as needy as claimed or even express her dissatisfaction during elections- rather than quitting altogether in protest, solving nothing in the process.

Just as the rich in society are not denied assistance should that fall on hard times due to misfortune or impropriety besides also enjoying the same income tax waivers upon the lower brackets of their income, they are also not excused from higher income taxes at the higher brackets should these apply.

Please note that in the context of taxation, the topic of present discussion- the harmonization property tax rates with the rates of GST is one that you cannot logically disagree with since I'm only suggesting a flat rate of taxation that the entrepreneurial girl agreed to in the first place, directly proportionate to the rate of consumption and not a progressive one which could also be the case should the need arise as the need may be.
