Preferred stock: Conditions underwhich holders may attend AGMs/ vote.

Taken from Hyflux: 6% Cumulative Non-Convertible Non-Voting Perpetual Class A Preference Shares Prospectus page 16:
Voting Rights Class A Cumulative Preference Shareholders have the same rights as ordinary shareholders as regards receiving notices, reports and balance sheets, and attending general meetings of the Issuer (“General Meetings”). If General Meetings are convened:

Why PSCS should be legally privileged compared to Preference Shares.

Me thinks that regarding all this distribution stuff. Although someone put it the other way around at Genting Singapore perpetual subordinated capital securities 5.125% i.e.: Bond --> Preference Share --> This current issue of perpetual securities --> Ordinary shares.

Re: Genting Bonds for retail investors.

Hi Mr Lee,
As I understand, all preference share holders are allowed to attend their respective companies AGMs if they have not received dividends in full for the preceding year.

Singapore: Distracted public bus driver hits motorcyclist.

In relation to the following article, I wonder why the bus-driver didn't stop the public bus and attend to the fracas first before continuing given to the fact that the fracas was causing him significant distraction? Given to the fact that the public bus is a very large and heavy vehicle that can endanger many lives- both inside and outside- shouldn't safety have been the driver's first priority? Or were share holder returns the order of the day?

Compared to ATM cars, the risk of loss through debit card misuse is immense.

The person who steals your card cannot activate your card, so how to use it, be it a credit or debit or even charge card? No pin will be sent, without you activating it and sending in a request for ATM access...This is the same as sending you a check and asking you to bank it. If you lose the check, no one can use the check because it has to be banked into an account that matches your name...

Debit cards too can be dangerous if misused/ misplaced.

I ever asked for a replacement for my damaged DBS saving card, they asked me for $5 to have the card replaced... If it is free, better take it.

There is a Taoist and Buddhist temple near my place and sometimes I am tempted to go in to kneel down and pray.

Thread topic: Is it possible for singapore to reinvent its future?
I don't think Singapore will become the greatest tourist attraction in near future. Look at China, Malaysia...etc.
Singapore almost became a parrot in almost everything quick fixes like casinos...etc. Tourists come and stay only for two or three days to tour around, that's it!
Another thing is, if foreign labourers/talents decide to stop coming here to work, then it is doomed for singapore.
