[Tax relief] Foreigner PMET having a whopping good time here...

[Tax relief] Foreigner PMET having a whopping good time here...
The Straits Times, Published on Apr 10, 2014: My Point
Query on tax relief for foreigners
I HEARD from a foreigner working here that he can claim qualifying child relief or handicapped child relief even though his children are not Singaporeans or Singapore permanent residents, and are not even staying here.
I was baffled as I thought the tax relief was only for children in Singapore.
If a foreigner can claim relief of $4,000 for each child not staying in Singapore, shouldn't a Singaporean be able to claim more, since his children are living here and expenses would be incurred in bringing them up here?

MOM sewing the seeds of revolution, if not drastic political change

Original thread:
'[discussion] Encouraging locals to be in service industry'
no lah. even big mnc such as manufacturing coy, construction, etc
they will need alot of low skill workers.
but yeah, expecting sme to become high tech is very difficult.
SME lacks the know-how, resource and implementation time period.

S$120 p.m. FDWG biased and unfair.

S$120 p.m. Foreign Domestic Worker Grant (FDWG) is biased and unfair.
- Those who qualify but do not hire a FDW due reasons such as: no space for FDW (FDW needs to live-in), cannot afford FDW, elderly is taken care of by 'unemployed' Singaporean child/ relative etc should be allocated the SAME funding to be placed into the elderly person's medisave account/ elder expense account that can be later spent on elderly care issues (monthly limit) such as nursing home care, dietary supplements, pampers, part-time/ professional help (licensed), medical appliances, taxi journeys involving the elderly to public health care institutions etc or used as a supplement to the regular use of medisave funds.
