Singapore and N-Korea, people, political culture= same; no?

Definitely scored grand distinction for his efforts at fixing opposition parties...

Workers' Party mass cycling at East Coast Park cannot, PAP carnival at West Coast Park can

So are political parties holding outdoor events dangerous? Well it depends on what party you belong to, it seems. If you were an Opposition party trying organise a mass cycling event at East Coast Park to celebrate your 50th anniversary, the Senior Minister of State for Law and Home Affairs, Prof Ho Peng Kee will reject it because political parties are not allowed to use public places to promote their cause. And also because of public safety.
Prof Ho said to WP's Low Thia Khiang, "You may be well-behaving, but there may be other people whom you come across when you cycle who may stop you, may want to debate with you and that may attract a crowd, and therefore will result in problems the police want to avoid."
But if you are the ruling party organising a carnival at West Coast Park, you are totally no danger to the public. In fact, you are a delight to the spectators.

Singapore citizens should have 2x chance of winning NDP ticket as compared to permanent residents and all performers an extra chance.

Singapore citizens should have 2x chance of winning NDP ticket as compared to permanent residents and all performers an extra chance.
(e.g. for performers: SG performer=3x chance, PR performer=2x chance, non-citizen performer=1x chance).

Re thread: Before we introduce the FT MP, how about reviewing the (duplicitous) GRC system of elections?
this is a thread abt GRC and it's redundancy...
well then do not use such a stupid (yes I used that word) title...
you want to attract views with use of "FT"??
and finally why are we FLOGGING this DEAD HORSE??
remove GRCs? OK sure why not? Would it ensure that the PAP will never govern again?

GRC system is good as it bring HDB upgrading faster. Else the HDB units all like haunted homes.

[Prepared?]Tsunami of immigrants from Europe/ USA immigrants to SE Asia? But are Singaporeans prepared?

Today, there is alleged inflation due to capital outflows from USA(FED) Japan due to their aggressive Quantitative Easing (QE) aka print $$$ policies. Today these large countries export $$$ into Asia, tomorrow (or has it started?) they will export immigrants in large numbers... perhaps the PAP is now building more HDB flats in preparation for their arrival... whatever the case, vegetables at NTUC will no longer cost the same as they cost now...

The electoral system in Singapore lies in urgent need of reform and remedy.

Well, with the citizenship easily given to perceived foreign talent, PAP probably wun be that daft to risk the loss of votes to make changes to the constitution to let non-citizens become MPs. There are already some foreign-born MPs in the parliament, but all of them have Singapore citizenship.

Maids, unless necessary, should be an appropriately priced luxury.

Ball is at foot of YSL I think.

Topic:Expulsion of Yaw Shin Leong from Party Membership
Short story why they took this action:
Yaw brought embarrassment to the party and most importantly, is a political liability because of the bad press. Hence, he must go or else next GE, how? That is likely how WP is thinking. So, they expelled him.

In investment, objectivity is key. If you make a mistake, it is ok since there are risks involved in any investment. We must not hide the mistake and therefore take no action in case we are found out.

Is Dr Tony Tan principally responsible for GIC's S$10 billion UBS investment loss (paper) this year?
