Poor YSL's website's automated feed actually announces his own expulsion fr party!

i think WP has made a bold move. this is an important episode in the local political scene, they have just made history.
on one hand, technically there is probably no explicit provison in the law and the party regulations how to deal with such cases (MP expelled by own party), so a new law would probably be made. and if YSL is thick-skinned enuff he probably can shoot back with a lawsuit wadever. cos according to LTK this is based on principle not rulings. but that would of cos make him admit or deny the allegations, which he probably would not. so WP took the risk.

a lot of things will be changed. new election laws is one thing, expectations of parties to discipline their own members, which i'm not sure is legal or not, and also a new standard. ppl now accept this first incident of sacking MPs over allegations and this expectation is probably here to stay. i think WP would be in the more advantagous position, since they got less possibility to cok up than pappies at present as pappies are holding most if not all the public offices.

anyway good move. while locals are still debating and speculating the inside story and the outcome/steps taken, WP went on to expel him. in terms of determination and maybe integrity if some like to dwell into it, they are a big step ahead of most ppl.

the first train may be slower than horse carts, but when the innovation pick up pace it is going to dump wadever carts behind.
BTW, laws got nothing against principle, LTK didn't sack YSL fr being MP per se, just that by SG law, if U get into parl on party platform, U need to remain on the same party platform ,otherwise U cannot keep your MP seat. YSL should have known that, unless of course he can claim not to see it coming. Nothing to argue in court fr my standpoint, unless there's sth we don't know? Only risk to WP is if YSL can proof that the decision was e.g. corruptly obtained/ if YSL could prove that nobody asked him to come clean by standing against WP in by election- that's the only risk I think. No need to change law in this respect either.
Whatever... but while the memory lasts...
His MP CV on parliament website- will only remain if he can win by-election.
