Does SG Govt waste public time, money on dirty tricks trying sullying the name of opposition MPs?

Statutory boards attempt land grab at opposition constituencies [link][STpict] to dispossess opposition MP run town councils of properties.
Waste public monies and parliamentary time on fragmented, inefficient or even absent ground maintenance programmes and the resultant agitation of opposition parliamentarians to complain due to PAP conspiracies to sully the reputation of opposition run town councils (through the deliberate absence of ground ownership demarcations through the deliberate grab and then neglect of land in opposition constituencies).

So many shameless dirty tricks and inefficiencies just to sully the reputation of opposition politicians; does PAP govt still command the moral authority to govern?

Different agencies could liaise with one contractor
04:45 AM Sep 09, 2011
I had wondered some time ago why the landscaping contractors came to my estate so often. A friend familiar with the subject helped to solve the mystery.
One contractor was doing work (grass-cutting, etc) for the Land Transport Authority and the other for the town council.
Now that the HDB has leased 26 sites in Aljunied GRC, including open fields, to the People's Association (PA), will there be another contractor coming in to carry out work for the PA?
I suggest that the relevant authorities put their heads together to give the landscaping job to one contractor instead of to three.
This will be cheaper, as the contractor would not need to incur additional costs to transport their machines and workers to the sites.
This will also not add noise to our already noisy estates. I look forward to a favourable response. Letter from Soh Ah Yuen

Chiam calls attention to upkeep of state land
OPPOSITION MP Chiam See Tong yesterday called on the Government to put up signs on state land to indicate which government agency is in charge of its maintenance. The Potong Pasir MP noted that when residents in his ward saw dirty or poorly maintained areas, they assumed it was because the town council, which he heads, “did not pay enough attention".
However, many of the areas residents complained about come under the charge of other agencies - including the Land Transport Authority, National Parks Board and the Singapore Land Authority (SLA), he said.
He wanted signs informing the public of the agency in charge of the state land, and how it could be contacted.
"(The agencies) should also conduct regular supervision and ensure proper upkeep of their respective areas," he added.
In his reply to Mr Chiam, Senior Minister of State (Law) Ho Peng Kee said there is no need to put up signs because “the key agencies, really, are only a few", and the town council knows who to call when residents approach it.

"Indeed. if they are not sure who to call, the town council can call HDB, and HDB will then direct the right agency to come and do the maintenance,” he said.
Associate Professor Ho also suggested that Mr Chiam publish the phone numbers of the relevant government agencies in his town council newsletter.
Mr Chiam could not be contacted yesterday, but Potong Pasir town councillor S. Kunalen told The Straits Times that one area residents often complained about was a piece of land behind the Hindu temple along Potong Pasir Avenue 3, which comes under the purview of the SLA.
